Because of heat issues last year we are moving up the times a bit:
Varsity women (can run 10) at 9 am. Varsity men (can run 10) at 9:30 am.
JV women at 10 (unlimited). JV men at 10:30 (unlimited). We will, as it looks,
have EMT at meet with emergency vehicle just to cover the bases along with trainers.
Meet cost will be 65$ total (mens and women included). (individual runners, 5$).

NFHS sanction has been applied for and pending. Will begin posting
accepted teams in June. A school may run multiple teams. For example
(if desired), boys 1-7 in "Championship," boys 8-14 in "Invite," and
boys 15+ in "Open." Championship and Invite races will be limited to 7
runners per team. No limit in the Open race. Traditionally, we've
supplied free T-shirts to as many finishers as possible. Last year the
top 40 finishers in each race received a T-shirt. We'll see how far
sponsorship money goes this year; we'll give away as many t-shirts as
possible. Entry Fee: $60 per school (1 time $60 entry covers all boys
and girls, regardless of number of races entered, or number of

Course is the current home of the Nike Cross Nationals Southeast Regional meet.
We are expecting high schools from around the state and surrounding
states. Last year we hosted athletes from fifty schools. Tentative time

Saturday, September 20...2nd Annual River Run Cross Country Invitational
(Fisher River Park, Dobson, NC)
The
course is located just 40 minutes from Winston-Salem and 1 hour from
the Charlotte area. As of right now we are planning on having a high
school boys and girls race and a middle school boys and girls race. If
we have a lot of runners will we add more divisions. The cost of this
invitational is $30 per team (Boys and girls team separately) and $5
per individual runners who are not on a team. We will also have FAT
Timing and scoring for this meet. The Fisher River Park Course is an
excellent Cross Country course similar to the Tanglewood Park Course
where the State Cross Country Championships are held. The course is a
1.5 mile loop (loop is ran twice) with a starting and finishing area
that make the course a true 5K (3.1 mile) Course. The course is a
mixture of grass, granite dust trails, and gravel footing with a few
rolling hills. Fisher River Park hosted the Northwest 1A Conference
Championships and the Mid-West 1A Cross Country Championships in 2006.

The public race starts at 8:00 AM with a fun run, a 5-k and a 10 miler, the

Team camps will be located inside the outer fence of the UNCW soccer
complex as in the past. No team camps are to be set up outside of this
area. No team camps can be set up on Friday evening. Please keep your
athletes off the soccer playing field itself on meet day! We also ask
that your team cleans up after itself following the meets. Trashcans
and trash bags will be available. Please be sure to use them. NO shower
facilities will be available at UNCW so please plan accordingly.
Athletes need to stay out of Hanover Gym, Almkuist-Nixon Sports
Medicine, or Trask Coliseum to use the restrooms. Please let your
athletes know this. Porta-Johns will be available in the team camp
area, as well as near the track facility. Bus Parking will be in
Parking Lots A or K near Trask Coliseum and across from the course.

This
is the fun laid-back, early season invitational to get your season
going. This is an all-inclusive meet meant to make every athlete on
your team relevant. We encourage you to involve as much of your team as
possible. Reid Ross Classical School has an 8-lane, all weather, rubber
surface, with three long jump pits, and two shot put circles. This
facility has been the location of many meets including the CIAA
Championship, the NCHSAA Regional Championship, and the Junior Olympic
State Championship. We will have t-shirts this year. For more

Friday, March 20... Wolverine Co-Ed Classic (Polk County High School)
4:00 pm. Ribbons for the first eight places (scoring 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1),
and trophies for the first three teams will be awarded. FAT will be
utilized and each team will receive a complete set of results at the
end of the meet. There will be a coaches' meeting at 3:30 to discuss
meet issues, but any scratches must be submitted by email by 6:00pm on
Thursday, March 19. A Hospitality Room will be available for the
coaches and workers. NCHSAA/NFHS rules will be enforced. Please review
the rules regarding jewelry, uniforms, and electronic devices with your
athletes. Running events will be timed finals. The throws and
horizontal jumps will have 3 attempts and carry 9 to finals. Admission
for spectators will be $5. Tents will not be allowed inside the track
or in the stands. A concession stand will be available. Boom boxes or

Saturday, March 21...3rd Annual Phoenix High School Classic (Elon University, NC)
Elon University's Irwin Belk Track and Dr. Alan and Norma White Field
complex is an 8-lane, all-weather, 400-meter track that also includes
complete facilities for field events, including the pole vault, long
jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, hammer throw,
steeplechase and javelin. FLATS or 1/4" SPIKES ONLY. AWARDS: Team
Plaques for Top three finishing teams. Top three finishers in each
event and relays will receive medals. ELIGIBILITY: Any currently
enrolled high school boy or girl. No club teams. ENTRY FEE: $100.00 per
team. Boys and Girls considered separate teams. Or $10.00 per
individual athlete up to a max of $100.00. (Ex. 10 athletes or more =
$100.00). ENTRY FEE DUE DATE: Entry fees are due no later than noon on
March 16, 2009. Teams will not be allowed in the meet if payment is not
received by this date. Any team whose entry fee has not been received
by March 16, will have all entries scratched. MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO:
"Elon University Athletics- Track & Field". Payment is due prior to

Entries will begin on March 11, 2009 at NOON and end on March 18, 2009
at 5:00pm. This will serve as your scratch/declaration period also! NO
additions the day of the meet! *Entry fees are non-refundable; meet
will be held regardless of weather. *Entry limit of three (3) per
event; (2) relays per school. *Minimum measurements in field events
enforced after first legal attempt (LJ, TJ, SP, DT). Starting Heights:
High Jump: Boys 5-4, Girls 4-4. Pole Vault: Boys 9-6, Girls 7-0.
CHECK-IN: All athletes in all events must check-in with the clerk no
later than 30 min. prior to the start of the event. Heat sheets will be
provided in the packets. WARM UP AREA: No warming up will be allowed on
the infield. RESULTS: Results will be posted on results board and
online at www.elonphoenix.com and
DirectAthletics.com.
WEIGH-INS: Athletes are expected to provide their own implements.
Implements will be inspected and weighed for high school specifications
and compliance prior to competition. Weigh-in for all implements will
take place by track entrance gate. SCHEDULE: Field events start at
10:00 am. Running events will begin with the 4x800 at 10:30 am. Please
note that the schedule is on a rolling schedule format and may also be
modified due to weather. PARKING: Vehicle parking will be at Rhodes
Stadium and additional parking will be at the Harper lot across from
soccer field. MEDICAL: Elon trainers will be available on site. Any

DIRECTIONS: For teams traveling on Interstate 85/40, take exit 140
(Elon exit). Follow signs toward Elon University. Once you enter the
town of Elon and pass over the railroad crossing and continue straight
through Haggard Ave/Williamson Ave. intersection. Continue straight for
approx. 1/2 mile into Rhodes Stadium parking lot on the right. HOTELS:

Saturday, March 21...35th Trojan Relays (South Pointe High School, Rock Hill, SC)
Due to problems with the track at Northwestern HS, the 35th Trojan
Relays has been moved to District 3 South Stadium which is located at
South Pointe HS in Rock Hill, SC. District 3 South, is the location for
the 2009 Coaches Classic. Entries are still through Direct Athletics (www.directathletics.com).
The track is a 400 meter, eight lane facility that last summer was the
host for the USATF Regional Track and Field Meet. The stadium seats
approximately 5,500, is only four years old, has plenty of parking and
is only 5.4 miles from Northwestern HS. Directions are located at: (directions).

the 1500m Run! Semi-Final heats will be run in the 100/110 Hurdles,

This meet is sponsored by Southeast Guilford High School and the North Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Meet time will be 10:00 AM with a scratch meeting beginning at 8:45 AM.
Running Events will begin 11:30 AM. Format will be relays, special
relays (Sprint and Distance Medley), weightman/weightwoman relays
(medals and ribbons, but no team points), and elite events 100/110
Hurdles, 100 Meter Dash, and 1600 Meter Run. All elite events will be
timed finals and the Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, and Discus get
four attempts, NO FINALS, Schools are limited to three athletes in each
field event and one athlete in the elite events. Entry fee will be
$40.00 for one team and $70.00 for two teams. Up to four athletes may
be entered at $10.00 per athlete. Entries will be via Direct Athletics.

Saturday April 4... 1st Annual J. J. Knox Track and Field Classic (Eastern
Alamance HS, Mebane, NC)
9:30 Coaches' Meeting, 10:00 Field Events, 11:00 3200 Relay, 12:00
Sprint Trials (110 High Hurdles, 100m dash, 400m dash, 300 Hurdles,
200m). Finals will begin 30 minutes after the sprint trials have
finished. Awards: Top 3 individuals in each event will receive medals,
top 2 men's and women's teams will receive awards. Entry Fees are
$45.00 for men's or women's teams, $80 if you enter both teams. $10.00
for an individual athlete, $15.00 for a Relay Team only. Checks can be

Saturday April 4...Tenth Annual Bill Carver Track & Field Classic (Reid Ross Classical School, Fayetteville, NC)
The track facility is adjacent to Reid Ross Classical School, 3200
Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. This a 8 lane, 42 inches red all
weather track, with three long jump pits, and two shot put circles.
AUTOMATIC TIMING by FINISH LYNX.
Sponsored by E. E. Smith High School and the City of Fayetteville Parks &
Recreation Department. Trophies will be awarded to the top three
teams in both boys and girls divisions. Medals will be awarded to the top three
places in each event. The outstanding track athlete and field athlete in both boys
and girls divisions will be given plaques. Outstanding Senior (only) award will be
awarded to a boy and girl athlete.
Commemorative shirts will be on sale. Food and drinks are available all day.
This meet is sanctioned with the NCHSAA. All athletes must belong to their high
school team and must be accompanied by a coach from that school.

The event will offer both standard and non traditional events. It will
begin at 3:00. Ashbrook has a rubberized track with two rubberized pits
for long and triple jump and brand new pole vault mats and standards
with rubberized runway. Each team may enter up to three athletes in
each individual event. Each team may also enter an "A" and "B" team in
each relay. Seeding preference, however, will be given to "A" teams.

Saturday, April 18...Western Carolina University High School Invitational (WCU, Cullowhee, NC)
General Info - The meet will be an Invitational scored meet between High School Teams.
Awards - 1st thru 3rd will receive medals for each event, this
also includes relays. The top three teams with the highest team scores
will also receive a team award. Scoring system: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. The Western Carolina University facility is an 8-lane, 400m Beynon 1000 System. There are two PV, LJ/TJ runways with pits on either end. The
facility
also includes a 66' X 108' HJ apron with two HJ pits, one shot put and
discus area inside the Track and one discus area located outside of the
track. The facility has seating for approx. 1500 spectators. Spikes - Athletes may not use a spike any longer than Œ”.
Timing - Timing for all running events will be fully automatic by
Slipstream Timing.

Entries - Each school will be allowed 3 entries per individual
event and 1 relay for each relay event for both boys and girls. All
entries will be done on line at www.slipstreamtiming.com or
www.directathletics.com.
Please take into consideration starting heights in the pole vault and
high jump, along with the board location in the long and triple jump
when entering your athletes. These standards will not be changed. No
exceptions will be made for any athlete. Please be honest and fair when
entering your athletes so that we may have the best competitive
situation for all athletes involved, and no one is in an embarrassing
situation. Entry Deadline - Entries must be in by 6:00pm on Monday April
13, 2009. No entries will be accepted after this date and time. Please
print off a copy of your entries once you have submitted them online.
This will be your verification in case of a mistake. We will not make
any additions on Saturday morning, unless it is a mistake of ours.
Entry Fee - $10.00 per athlete up to seven athletes, after seven
athletes the fee is $75.00 for a team. Boys and girls are considered
separate teams. (Example: WCU boys-$75.00 and WCU girls-$75.00 for a
school total of $150.00). Make checks payable to Western Carolina Track
and Field. Cash will also be accepted. Entry fees can be paid at packet
pick-up, but be aware that athletes will not be allowed to compete
unless entry fee is paid before the start of the meet. The fee is based
on the number of athletes that you enter in the meet, not the number

Parking - Will be located in the lot directly across from the
track. Drop offs can be made at the entrance to the track, but buses
must move immediately after the drop.
There will be no coaches meeting prior to the start of the meet. All
information that you will need is listed on the meet information form.
Any additional info will be placed in your meet packet. Packet Pick-Up will begin at 8:30am Saturday at the entrance
to the WCU Track and Field facility in front of the black fence. Heat
sheets will not be placed in your packet, they will be posted on the
walls at the top of the stadium. Results will be posted on the wall
also. Results will be able to be obtained at www.catamountsports.com under the track and field page or at www.slipstreamtiming.com.
Girls High Jump will start @ 4-6, Boys High Jump 5-8, Girls Pole Vault 8-0,
Boys Pole Vault 11-0.
No athletes or coaches are allowed to hang out or sit in the infield of
the track. Warm up area for the running events is the practice soccer
field located to the right of the grandstand. No warm-ups will be
allowed on the track except for the athletes in the hurdle events.
Hurdlers will be allowed on the track in the outside lanes for hurdle
warm-ups. Also a grass section of the infield will be used for hurdle
warm-up. If an athlete checks out of a field event to go to another
event and does not return before his or her flight is over, then they
will lose any remaining attempts in that event. In the HJ or PV, if an
athlete checks out to go to another event, upon return they must
compete at whatever height the competition is now at with however many
attempts that they may have remaining. Coaches will be allowed in the
assigned coaching areas at the field events. Athletes can come to you.
Non competing athletes will not be allowed to gather at the field event
sites. They must watch the events from the stands or from behind the
fences.
All running events will be sections vs. times with the fastest sections
always running first. The winners will be the top 8 performances
overall. All field events will be in flights, and will follow this same
format.

Saturday, April 25...Fury Relays (Forsyth Country Day School, Lewisville, NC)
Forsyth Country Day School is located in Lewisville which is on the
northwest side of Winston-Salem and is easily accessible from I-40.
Facility: Our 8-lane blue polyurethane track was installed in the
summer of 2006, has two horizontal jumps runways, all UCS pits and
hurdles, and all of the field events are located at one end of the
facility. Field Events: Three entries per school will be allowed and
your best two performances will be combined to determine your team
performance, (i.e. Your high jumpers jump 6-2, 5-10, and 5-8, your team
performance would be 12-0). Legal marks from two individuals are
necessary for awards and scoring eligibility. Cost: $75/Girl's team,
$75/Boys team, $5 for spectators. Awards: Medals will be given to the
first three places in each event and trophies will be awarded to the
top two Girls and Boys teams. Entries: Entries are to be emailed and
are due Thursday, April 23 by Noon. Athletes are allowed to be entered

Saturday, April 25... Times-News Invitational (Polk County High School)
10:00 am. Ribbons for the first eight places (scoring
10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1), and trophies for the first three teams will be
awarded. FAT will be utilized and each team will receive a complete set
of results at the end of the meet. There will be a coaches' meeting at
9:30 to discuss meet issues, but any scratches must be submitted by
email by 6:00pm on Friday, April 24. A Hospitality Room will be
available for the coaches and workers. NCHSAA/NFHS rules will be
enforced. Please review the rules regarding jewelry, uniforms, and
electronic devices with your athletes. Depending on the numbers of
entries, there may be preliminaries in the sprints and hurdles events.
The throws and horizontal jumps will have 3 attempts and carry 9 to
finals. Admission for spectators will be $5. Tents will not be allowed
inside the track or in the stands. A concession stand will be

Saturday, April 25... Eagle Track Classic-Regional Tune-Up Meet (East Forsyth HS,
Kernersville, NC)
Field
events begin at 10:00 a.m. 4x800 at 10:30. Open to North Carolina High
Schools Only! This meet is open to High School Teams and Individuals
representing their High School. No Club Teams. We are looking to
provide a meet to simulate the time frame and intensity of competition
found at the regional meets. We will run a full State Meet schedule.
Fully Automatic Timing. Six-lane all weather track, with facilities for
all field events, including newly renovated shot put, discus, and pole
vault areas. Medals will be given to the top 3 male and female
finishers in each event. Team trophies will be awarded to the top 3
teams. Entries will be done online using www.directathletics.com.
Entries will open March 9, 2009 and will close on April 12, 2009. Entry
Limits: Each team may enter three athletes per event and 1 relay. Entry
Fees: $75.00 per team (boys and girls separate) $10.00 per individual
up to 7. Checks should be made payable to East Forsyth High School and
be mailed to: Mike Riley, East Forsyth High School, 2500 West Mountain
Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.
Additional Information: A 5k Fun Run will be available to those
athletes not competing in the meet at a cost of $10.00 per entry. The
Fun Run will take place on the East Forsyth cross country course at
9:00 AM. Awards will be given in various age groups. Cost is $20.00 for
adults and non-team members. Meet Schedule: Same as State Meet.

Saturday, May 2... HPU Vertklasse Meeting (High Point University, High Point, NC)

p.m. No team scores. High Point University is hosting the meet at the
Dick Vert Track & Soccer Stadium. It will offer the 2k Steeple, the
400H, and the Javelin (among others) to give high school athletes an
opportunity to compete in these events BEFORE Nike Outdoor Nationals
and Junior Olympics. Our unique European format will feature 12
exciting events in a rapid-fire, 3 1/2 hour window. Athletes will have
the opportunity to:
* Sharpen for the NCHSAA Track & Field Postseason competitions
* Post a Nike Outdoor Nationals (NON) qualifying mark in the Steeple, 400H, or Javelin
*Run on the same Beynon surface that the 2008 US Olympic Trials were run on
Entries will be hosted by
DirectAthletics.com. We are putting together elite fields with top high school
athletes. Interested athletes/coaches should contact Coach Esposito at
mesposit@highpoint.edu. High school
athletes competing before their conference meet may represent their respective
schools. However, according to NCHSAA rules high school athletes competing after
their conference meet must compete unattached. All high school javelin throwers must
compete unattached. The entry fee for high school athletes will be $10.

Saturday, May 2... 5th Annual Frosh/Soph Invitational (Mount Tabor HS, Winston-Salem, NC)
11:00 am: Field Events, 4x800.
Limited to 9th and 10th grade athletes. Athletes in 7th and 8th grade who are
allowed to compete for their high school varsity or JV teams will also be
allowed to participate. NO MIDDLE SCHOOL RACES -- ONLY HIGH SCHOOL RACES.
Teams that have NOT yet competed in their conference meet are fully eligible.
If your team HAS competed in your conference meet, athletes must meet the following guidelines to participate:
1) Any athlete may compete unattached by paying their own entry fee and providing
their own transportation; 2) If they are NOT going on to the regional, then up to
6 athletes can compete for their school as a skill development session;
3) Athletes who have been in a conference meet, and are going on to the regional,
CANNOT compete for their school in any meet between!
Entry Fee: all fees cover up to four events per athlete. Individual: $5 (Individuals must be unattached and cannot generate a team score.). Team: $40 for a boys or girls team. $60 for both boys and girls. A team is at least 5 individuals from the same school, or any number of athletes from a school that wants to have a team score.
Awards and Scoring: Medals awarded to first three finishers in each event. Ribbons will be awarded to fourth-place through sixth-place finishers. Team awards will be given to the top 3 teams for boys and girls. Entry Deadline: Wednesday, April 29th. Absolutely no entries will be accepted after then! Entry Guidelines: Entries may be e-mailed or faxed using the attached forms. Three athletes per event in lane races and field events. Unlimited entries in the 1600, 800, and 3200. Multiple relays are allowed! Please include full name and grade (9 or 10) of each athlete. Athletes without grades will be listed as 10th graders. Please provide a seed mark to enter your athlete appropriately - athletes without seed marks will be entered at no mark (slowest heat). Please include school name with all entries. Meet may be moved to just the 6th depending on the turnout. Right now all field
events along wtih the Mile and 5000 will be Friday night and the rest of the
running events on Saturday. Info will be posted at the Bishop track webpage.
Schedule: Friday, June 5th:
Start at 5:00.
5:00: Boys LJ @ pit # 1, Girls LJ @ pit # 2.
6:00: Boys TJ @ pit # 1, Girls TJ @ pit # 2.
Girls Shot & Boys Discus. 7:00: Boys Shot. Girls Discus. 7:15: Girls High Jump.
7:30: Mile (may move later say 8:00 or 8:15 if no one is running mile and 5000).
8:30: Boys High Jump. 9:15: 5000.
Saturday, June 6th:
Start at 10:00 (time schedule will be determined once I get entries).
Might start at noon if not a lot of entries. If everything is in one
day field events will begin at 10:00 and running will begin at noon or
1:00.
Order of events: SMR (200-200-400-800), 110/100h, 100, 4x200,
DMR (1200-400-800-1600), 4x100, 400, 300h, 800, 200, 3200, 4x4.

If the turnout is low I will move everything to Saturday except an open mile and 5000 on Friday night.
